The UK blinds and shades market is valued at approximately £705 million and is projected to surpass £1.1 billion by 2030
Demand is being driven by rising energy costs, with research showing blinds can reduce heat loss through windows by up to 33%, and the growing adoption of smart, motorised blinds as UK homeowners connect window coverings to home automation systems.
That shift is driving more considered, high-intent buying decisions – and more organic search. Our data shows 2.8 million estimated clicks available every month in this market.
Buyers looking to purchase blinds are getting brand results too. Only 9% of search results in our data show AI Overviews, largely driven by related installation and fitting queries rather than pure purchase searches.
The clicks are still going to brands. But where and why?
One brand holds nearly 18% of this market, with a level of dominance that makes chasing overall share a difficult target for most.
Specialists still take 77% of all clicks between them though, and generalists like Dunelm, IKEA and B&Q take less than 10% despite their scale and authority.
The overall picture only tells part of the story too. Categories like control mechanisms, room and application, and installation and fitting terms each have their own set of leaders, which are brands that don’t appear prominently in the broader market.
