We’ve been named as one of Prolific North’s Independent Agencies to Watch for 2026.
The highly anticipated list was announced on Wednesday 9th September, showcasing 15 exciting indie agencies emerging across the North.
This marks the fourth year of the initiative, celebrating ambitious, new agencies making the biggest waves as they grow, financially, creatively, or as an employer.
We’re very proud to have been included, and the timing couldn’t be more fitting as two years ago this week the ideas were in motion that led to starting WE-COM, and then last September we had just fully launched.
Here’s some of what we’ve been up to that secured our place on the list:
- The agency launched in January 2025, with no clients, no pipeline, and no recurring revenue.
- James Mechan joined in February, and was made a director and shareholder by October.
- Moved out of a shared co-working space and into our first office in the centre of Newcastle.
- Built the WE-COMMUNITY, our own network of more than 50 specialist e-commerce freelancers, deployed project by project rather than a fixed headcount.
- Delivered around 25 client projects, including working with established agencies as a senior delivery and training partner.
- Won Harry Hall after our first competitive pitch, then took them from third to first in market visibility within 9 months.
- Landed Bazaar Group’s £20m homeware brand icon and led a complex domain and platform migration.
There’s been a lot happening since we were put forward for this list, including making our first internal hire during our first full financial year, and there are more exciting updates to come.
Leaders from some of the agencies listed got together in Manchester on Thursday for a celebratory roundtable, hosted by Prolific North, national law firm Glaisyers ETL, and agency management platform Synergist. It was a great conversation to be a part of, swapping stories with people in a very similar boat, and we’ll share some of the write-up when it’s published.
Thank you to Prolific North, and congratulations to the other 14 agencies. You can take a look at the full list here.
